Welcome to Intrigued by Lee LLC (“Intrigued by Lee “we,” “us,” or “our”). By purchasing our products or accessing our website, you (“Customer” or “you”) agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before completing any purchase.
These Terms govern all purchases of Intrigued by Lee products including, but not limited to: handcrafted candles, wax melts, and room sprays within the Aura Signature Collection (Veil, Haven, Solace, and Obsidian), as well as any future product offerings.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not complete your purchase.
2. Product Descriptions
All Intrigued by Lee products are handcrafted in small batches. As a result, minor variations in color, texture, scent throw, and appearance may occur between batches and are not considered defects. Product images are representative and may not reflect exact final appearance.
Our current product categories include:
• Candles – hand-poured, luxury-grade wax with premium fragrance oils
• Wax Melts – wickless scented wax for use with an electric or tea-light wax warmer
• Room Sprays – fine-mist fragrance sprays for ambient scenting of interior spaces
3. Candle & Product Safety
THE FOLLOWING SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN FIRE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. INTRIGUED BY LEE LLC ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR INJURIES OR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM IMPROPER USE.
Candles
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials.
• Keep away from drafts, vents, and open windows.
• Trim wick to 1/4 inch before each use. Remove wick trimmings and debris from wax pool.
• Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow to cool completely before relighting.
• Discontinue use when 1/2 inch of wax remains.
• Never use water to extinguish a candle. Use a snuffer or lid if applicable.
• Container may be hot during and after use. Handle with care.
Wax Melts
• Use only with an appropriate electric or UL-listed tea-light wax warmer.
• Never heat directly over an open flame or on a stovetop.
• Do not leave wax warmer unattended or use while sleeping.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• Do not ingest. If skin contact occurs, wash with soap and water. If ingested or eye contact occurs, seek medical attention immediately.
Room Sprays
• For ambient air use only. Do not spray directly on skin, eyes, clothing, or furniture without patch testing first.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• Flammable. Keep away from open flame, heat, and sparks.
• Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.
• Do not ingest. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
• Some surfaces may be sensitive to fragrance oils. Test in an inconspicuous area before use.
3a. Candle Care Instructions
To ensure the best performance, scent throw, and safe use of your Intrigued by Lee candle, please follow these care instructions:
• First burn: Allow the candle to burn long enough for the entire top layer of wax to melt to the edges of the container (typically 1–2 hours). This prevents “tunneling” and ensures even burning for the life of the candle.
• Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before every burn. Remove any trimmings, matches, or debris from the wax pool before lighting.
• Burn in increments of 1–4 hours per session. Do not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time.
• Keep the wax pool free of debris and avoid touching or moving the candle while the wax is liquid.
• Discontinue use once 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the container to prevent overheating of the container or surface beneath it.
• Allow the candle to cool and the wax to fully solidify before relighting or relocating.
• Store unused candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve fragrance and prevent discoloration.
• Keep away from drafts, vents, fans, and air currents, which can cause uneven burning, flickering, and excess soot.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended, and always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
3b. Liability for Improper Candle Care
Intrigued by Lee LLC is not liable for any damage, injury, or loss resulting from failure to follow the Candle Care Instructions outlined in Section 3a or the safety guidance outlined in Section 3. This includes, but is not limited to, damage caused by tunneling from an incomplete first burn, overheating from burning past the recommended 1/2 inch threshold, uneven burning caused by drafts, container failure from extended burn times, or any fire, surface, or property damage resulting from improper use.
By purchasing and using our products, you accept full responsibility for following the care and safety instructions provided, and you agree that any damages arising from noncompliance are excluded from our liability and from any replacement, refund, or claim consideration.
4. Fragrance & Allergen Disclosure
Intrigued by Lee products contain fragrance oils and may include ingredients derived from natural essential oils, botanical extracts, or synthetic aroma compounds. Individuals with sensitivities, allergies, asthma, or respiratory conditions should consult a healthcare provider before use.
Specific fragrance formulations are proprietary. If you require detailed ingredient information for medical or allergy purposes, please contact us at support@intriguedbylee.comprior to purchase.
5. Orders & Payment
All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of payment. We reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion and will issue a full refund in such cases. Prices are listed in U.S. Dollars and are subject to change without notice. Sales tax will be applied where required by law.
By submitting payment, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided and that the billing information you supply is accurate.
6. Shipping & Delivery
All Intrigued by Lee candles are poured to order. Because each candle is hand-poured fresh upon purchase rather than pulled from pre-made stock, please allow a minimum of 1 week (7 business days) for your candle to be poured, cured, and prepared for shipment before it leaves our studio. Wax melts and room sprays may ship on a shorter timeline depending on current stock and order volume.
Once your order ships, please allow up to 3 weeks total from the date of purchase for delivery, accounting for both production time and carrier transit. Estimated delivery times shown at checkout are approximate and not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather, holiday volume, or other circumstances beyond our control.
Risk of loss and title pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. If your package is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us within 7 days of the expected delivery date so we may assist in filing a claim.
7. Returns, Refunds & Exchanges
Due to the handcrafted and perishable nature of our products, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges on opened products.
If you receive a damaged or defective product, please contact us at support@intriguedbylee.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photo documentation. At our discretion, we will offer a replacement or store credit.
We are not responsible for damage caused by improper storage, handling, or use of our products after delivery.
8. Intellectual Property
All content associated with Intrigued by Lee LLC — including but not limited to the brand name, logo, Aura Signature Collection name and scent names (Veil, Haven, Solace, Obsidian), product photography, packaging design, website content, and marketing materials — is the exclusive property of Intrigued by Lee LLC and is protected under applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any Intrigued by Lee intellectual property for commercial purposes without express written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTRIGUED BY LEE LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OUR PRODUCTS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Our total liability for any claim arising from a product purchase shall not exceed the original purchase price paid for the product(s) at issue.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Intrigued by Lee LLC and its members, officers, agents, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising out of your use of our products, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
11. Privacy Policy
We collect personal information (such as name, address, and email) solely for the purpose of processing your order and communicating with you. We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties, except as required to fulfill your order (e.g., shipping carriers) or as required by law.
By placing an order, you consent to receiving transactional emails related to your purchase. You may opt in to marketing communications separately.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.
We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any concerns informally. We are committed to a fair and timely resolution.
13. Modifications to Terms
Intrigued by Lee LLC reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of our website or products after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
